At C.W. Keller, Project Managers play a critical role in the success of a project. The ideal team member must demonstrate the following:

  • Manage and coordinate projects through all phases, including involvement during the design process, execution through fabrication, delivery, and installation.
  • Manage all aspects of project delivery by providing accurate scheduling, material identification and selection, subcontractor coordination, and cost tracking.
  • Prioritize tasks in order to meet schedule deadlines.
  • Be adept at working with a wide range of clients and partners that include architects, construction managers, corporate clients and institutions.
  • A knowledge of delivery methods including design assist, design build and product delivery.
  • An understanding of millwork fabrication techniques.
  • A strong, structured, analytical, problem solving skill.
  • Be detail-oriented, extremely organized, and have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • A proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) and project management software.
  • Experience using Rhino 3D and AutoCAD is preferred.

Project Manager

Our team enjoy's working on projects in the high-end residential, corporate, retail, and institutional markets on a local and national scale.

A cost estimator at CW Keller will report to the head of sales and is responsible for the development of specific cost proposals within overall bids.   The CE works within the Sales team to provide guidance on bid strategies, building means and methods, coordination with outside resources and prepares specific cost studies, drawings and documentation for complex items within a bid opportunity.  CE’s are then responsible for the transfer of information and on-going support of the project management and engineering teams while they work through these portions of a project.

Estimating

  • Produce accurate, comprehensive and well-developed Time and Material proposals that reflect the capabilities of our internal team as well as the combined skills and efforts of our vendors and partners.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with our key vendors, suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure our bids reflect their role and abilities.
  • Investigate and develop new relationships with vendors who may improve our team’s abilities to successfully complete work in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Meet with all of our key vendors, suppliers and sub-contractors to understand their strengths and weaknesses and build a team for each bid that best positions us to be awarded projects that will allow the entire team to be successful.
  • Communicate your understanding of vendor’s needs, capabilities and qualifications for each bid to the engineering team and project managers and assist with the hand-off of the “bid team” to the project management team.
  • Work with the internal team to develop fabrication strategies for active bids.
  • Work with the internal team to develop labor estimates that are based on itemized and specific task based time estimates.
  • Work with the internal team to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of the organization and apply this knowledge to the estimating process.
  • Work with internal estimators and external vendors to gather pricing for all buy-out materials and sub-assemblies.
  • Work with internal estimators and external installation companies to review project scope, evaluate best and worse case scenarios for fabrication details, delivery schedules and other potential job site requirements to provide our installation partners with the information they need to provide us with successful installation proposals.
  • Clearly define our scope of work by developing itemized Time and Material Estimates that reflect our understanding of the work that is detailed in the bid documents and then communicate with the potential client to ensure our scope of work matches their expectations.
  • Meet weekly with the production team and job captains to review bid hours vs. actual time spent to document this information so that it can be used to inform future bids.
  • Work with PM’s to react to project changes and support the preparation of Change Requests.
  • Develop and communicate via drawings, sketches, 3D models or other methods specific vendor requirements for project related scope (i.e. stone, glass and custom metal) and then work with each vendor to ensure they are bidding their scope in alignment with our teams role and responsibilities.

 

Key skills that will be required for success:

  • Candidate will need to have excellent interpersonal skills to work with internal team members and hundreds of external resources.
  • Candidate must be able to clearly define work-load and commit the time and effort needed to manage multiple bids concurrently while assisting PM’s with active jobs, developing bid packages for vendor material quotes and managing and tracking on-going tool/resource development for future bids.
  • Candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of fabrication techniques as they relate to woodworking as well as be versed in fabrication techniques of other types of fabricators including fiberglass, high density foam, metal, glass, stone, solid surface, upholstery, pre-cast concrete, cast in place concrete and thermoforming.  Candidate will work to educate themselves on materials, fabrication techniques and advances in engineering in each of these categories.
  • This is a desk based position where candidate will spend most of their day interfacing with excel spreadsheets, word documents, email and our accounting software.  Phone, computer, scanning, typing and PC/Windows based skills are critical.

 

Qualifications:

  • Specialized Knowledge – Rhino to be able to open and review models prepared by our clients or engineering team.
  • Skills/Abilities – Very detail oriented, willing to ask questions, organized.
  • Experience – 5-7 Years of shop construction experience.
  • Education and progressive improvement in the use of required software programs.
  • Knowledge of industry materials
  • Ability to generate work orders
  • Ability to red line shop drawings
  • Ability to conduct material research
  • Ability to generate material take-offs
  • Ability to navigate custom orders

Lead Estimator


C.W. Keller & Assoc., Inc. has an opportunity for a talented Project Engineer to join our digitally intensive engineering team. This position will entail developing fabrication models and project deliverables from concept through CNC programs and assembly drawings.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop comprehensive 3d models and shop drawings for client approval and fabrication 
  • Generate CNC programs for both 3 and 5 axis machining
  • Communicate with both Project Management and Fabrication Job Captains as required for the successful completion of projects
  • Adhere to and outperform strict project timelines
  • Record and implement site dimensions as required

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable in the area of digital fabrication and driven to succeed in a fast paced environment. The position is at our Plaistow, NH office and all candidates must be willing to relocate if not currently located in the immediate area. In addition, the ideal candidate:

  • Has obtained a professional degree (Industrial Design, Engineering, and or Architecture)
  • Has an advanced knowledge of Rhino 3D 
  • Has experience using Grasshopper or Rhinoscript for high level parametric modeling and automation
  • Has experience programming in Mastercam for 3 and 5 axis machining
  • Has 3- 5 years of experience in Architectural Fabrication

Project Engineer


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Finishing of high-end custom architectural millwork using water-based, lacquer-based, paint, and polyester products with the use of state of the art spraying equipment.
  • The ideal candidate will be versatile in performing woodworking tasks, sanding and miscellaneous if the
    finish department has a light schedule.
  • Set-up and safe operation of finishing tools and machinery
  • Providing support to Job Captain to meet project deadline
  • Maintaining a safe working environment


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Read & Speak English
  • Minimum 5 yrs. hands-on experience in a millwork shop
  • Knowledge of chemicals - their uses, interactions, dangers, production techniques, disposal methods
  • Ability to read and build from shop drawings
  • Passing a respirator fit test and pulmonary function test
  • Ability to color match for shades and brightness of color, stain, seal, scuff, and top coat.
  • Color matching to client's specifications using dyes, stains, or tinted lacquers.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Make common sense decisions
  • Work independently, as well as, part of a team
  • Follow verbal and written instructions
  • Have a positive attitude and a good work ethic
  • Abide by safety procedures as required by employer and OSHA
